Refund policy
RuneTranslate is free to download and use. Most people try it on their own games first, then upgrade for full-speed translation and the paid-tier features. Nothing in the app charges you: a paid tier only starts when you choose one on Patreon or at our checkout and confirm it there. How a refund works depends on where you paid.
Paid on Patreon
We refund a payment when:
- you were charged twice for the same billing period;
- you were charged after you had already cancelled your pledge;
- you forgot to cancel and your account hasn’t used the paid tier since the new charge (please cancel on Patreon too, so it doesn’t happen again next month);
- your paid tier never reached your RuneTranslate account and we couldn’t fix it after you told us.
We don’t refund:
- a billing period in which your account used the paid tier, for example by translating at full speed. This also applies when the pledge is later described as a mistake, since the app can be tried for free before paying;
- the rest of a billing period after you cancel. You keep your tier until the period ends instead.
How to ask: request a refund from your Patreon Billing History within 14 days of the payment, or email [email protected]. We answer within 7 days. To decide, we check whether your account used the paid tier. Our server keeps a count of that use, never what you translate.
Paid directly (through Paddle)
Direct orders are sold by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record, so their refunds follow Paddle’s refund policy. To ask for one, use the link in your Paddle receipt email, visit paddle.net, or email [email protected] and we will pass it on. A refunded or charged-back payment ends the access it paid for straight away.
If a payment is refunded or reversed, including through your bank, the RT Coins your account earned for that month are removed. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; it’s usually faster for both of us. Nothing in this section limits refund rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
This is section 5 of our Terms of Service.
